Every year, we produce a major national event dedicated to addressing a priority nature conservation challenge.

We harness our unique convening power to provide a politically neutral and innovative platform for collaboration, and together we tackle critical issues, share knowledge, build capacity, drive policy change, pursue common goals and work towards our shared vision for nature.

Our 2026 major national symposium will centre around Target 3 of the Global Biodiversity Framework: Conserve 30% of Land, Waters and Seas.

This interactive symposium will focus on the delivery of 30x30 in Australia and beyond, including initiatives that emphasise quality, effectiveness, equity and justice in nature conservation. It will also include preparations for the 2027 IUCN World Protected and Conserved Areas Congress.
